Banana Lane is an online clothing brand aimed exclusively at children. It offers clothing for newborns to five year olds including parent/child gift sets with the longer term aim to introduce toys, shoes and bedding.
Before it was known as Banana Lane the company had a clear vision to be seen as a funky brand aimed at children with big personalities. It wanted to develop a brand that would give it maximum chance of standout and an e-commerce presence to maximise engagement with the target audience.
Following several workshop sessions, we identified a memorable name to represent the brand and developed a descriptive strapline - Funky ethical clothing for kids with big personalities. We then developed a brand identity which was then applied to an e-commerce site and packaging materials to give the brand a premium feel.
Social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, have been set up to help raise awareness of the brand and drive traffic to the new site.
While operating in a competitive market the name and brand identity creates stand out. Within a few months of going live they were approached by Not On The High Street to be part of their online retail family. Visitors to the site have increased exponentially and sales have increased substantially. In addition, a wholesale offering has now been set up on the site and has led to international interest with clothing being exported to Australia.
